Now, at this stage, there are two important questions. Why use the name at all, and if so, why the name at birth? The vibrations of our birth name remain with us all our lives, though we can and often do alter the vibrations by a change of a name, for instance when someone gets married. From a re incarnationalist viewpoint, we ourselves choose our name and date of birth so that we are exposed to the right influences for our own development. That may be a bit hard to accept at this stage, but bear it in mind and reconsider it once we have looked at a complete chart. To work out the expression number we write the full name down, and then write the numerological value of each underneath. We add up all the numbers for each word, bringing them down to a single number, but always leaving the Master Numbers intact. In Edward Gibbon Wakefield`s case we have just the one Master Number, a 22, derived from the consonants of his first name. This will be used when we work out his Quiet self, which is discussed later, but does not come into the working out of his Expression. In Edward Gibbon Wakefield`s case we work out his Expression by adding up the letters of each word: 5+4+5+1+9+4=28, and 2+8=1. This is the Edward. 7+9+2+2+6+5=31, and 3+1=4. That is the Gibbon. 5+1+2+5+6+9+5+3+4=40, and 4+0=4. That is the Wakefield. For his complete name we add up the 1, 4 and 4. 1+4+4=9Edward Gibbon Wakefield has an Expression number of 9. I have already said that the Expression represents a person`s potential and natural abilities. Here are the abilities for each expression number: 1. Whether or not they are used, though, is another matter. Generally, people do not use all of them at the same time, though the potential may be apparent to others. |
